Career Path:
Before I was introduced to CyberPatriot, I was leaning towards becoming an automotive technician. After extensive exposure to such a great competition, I had a 180 degree occupational switch and now am planning to pursue a computer science degree.

What type of Career/Jobs were you looking for when you graduated?
Due to my intentions with automotive, I was looking more for a car dealership, rather than an IT/CS oriented occupation. It was not until my senior year when I was exposed to CyberPatriot that I began to look at computer-related opportunities once I graduate from college.

How did you find out about Northrop Grumman?
I first became exposed to Northrop Grumman when they became the presenting sponsor of CyberPatriot in the spring of 2010. My high school hosted the program leadership shortly before graduation and I got to know a little about the opportunities the company had to offer, even in Clearfield, Utah.

Why did you decide on a cyber-security job path?
Why I chose to join the cyber security world is quite a story. Before I was introduced to CyberPatriot, I knew that our nation was going to be a computer-based, cyber world. It is very intriguing to me to be able to perform some of the computer tasks with policies, or admin issues, etc. I love technology and this is just the beginning.  I greatly enjoy being a part of the Northrop Grumman team here in Clearfield and hope to continue to encourage cyber security for our younger generations.

What made you interested in cyber?
CyberPatriot is what initially caught my attention. Cyber warfare is becoming such a threat in today’s society and we are behind on the occupation numbers that are needed. We need to promote cyber security and affiliating aspects to today’s youth because it is up to them to keep this nation going.

What is the environment at your office like?
The environment at my office is one of a kind. I am working for a great supervisor who is more than willing to help me in any way possible to get me on my feet and build my experience and character. There is also a definite knowledge of “there is a time and a place for everything.” There is humor everywhere you go in the office and I love that.
